8. ECUADOR: STEEP MOUNTAINS, RAIN AND A CAT
Aquas Verdes - Santa Rosa - Pasaje - Cuenca - Ambato - Pujili - Quilotoa - Latacunca - Cotopaxi - Tumbaco ( Quito)
We are on the way to Ecuador. Relaxed from the last few days in the nice beach region of Mancora we have the strength to cycle the 4000 high meters in 3 days uphill until we reach Cuenca.
AMBATO'S CARNEVAL
We went to the two big Parades from the Fiesta de Flores y Frutas.
AMBATO - BANOS
Ambato - Pujili - Quilotoa - Latacunca - Cotopaxi - Tumbaco
After the nice time in Ambato. We left to Pujili where we stayed any days on a nice place we felt like home. Thank you Kiko for staying in your home.
Then we left for the Quilotoa-Loop where we went with bus and bike over 4000m again to the nice vulcan-lake. After 2 day on the bike, we had to catch a bus because of heavy rain in the mountains to Latacunca.
Up and down in the mountains from Equador. Finally on more than 4400m at the entrance from the NP Chimborazo. Then down to Ambato where we find our new friend
"Ernie" on the street. After 5 relaxing days in Baños we returned to Ambato for the amazing Carneval Parades.
......and "Ernie" is comming in a Box with us :)

Our lovely cat, which came with us longer than a month run away. In the Casa de Ciclistas she was hunted from the dog and disappeared. After searching for one week and putting everywhere sheets with her pictures but we couldn't find her. Hopefully she found another place.
